Advisory Council

 

CatholicCare’s Advisory Council exists to provide pastoral support and independent advice to the Executive Director in relation to programs and organisational initiatives, including strategic objectives and directions. It consists of 6 Ordinary Members with a broad range of skill and expertise in areas relevant to agency operation. Members are appointed for a 3 year term by Bishop Peter A. Comensoli. The CatholicCare Executive Director, Diocesan Financial Administrator, and a diocesan Priest representative are Ex-officio Members of the Council, which meets approximately eight times per year.

Trish is the Executive Director of CatholicCare and holds an ex-officio seat on the Council. 

Fr David Taylor

Fr David is parish priest of St Mary's Manly and is involved in a number of Diocesan Clergy Forums. He is trained as a social worker and worked in hospital, general medical and psychiatric settings prior to entering the seminary in 1986. 

 Ted Wziontek

Ted is a previous international executive and company director across a range of industry sectors. He is also a qualified practicing Accountant with strong financial and risk management skills. Ted is also currently a Board member of North Sydney Community Services, which provides a range of aged, disability and migrant services.

 Zachariah Duke

Zach is Assistant Dean, Broken Bay Institute, where he lectures and tutors. He is currently completing a PhD in the area of theology of disability and has ongoing research interests in practical and pastoral theology.

Tricia Ho-Hudson

Tricia is a lawyer and banker. She is currently a senior executive with Commonwealth Bank of Australia and has served on the Boards of Sacred Heart Kincoppal School Rose Bay and UnitingCare Ageing NSW/ACT. Tricia has a strong sense of importance of the service CatholicCare provides the community.

Judge Matthew Myers AM

Judge Myers is a member of the Federal Court Circuit judiciary, currently sitting at Newcastle and hearing Family Law related matters. He is the first Aboriginal man to be appointed as an Australian Federal Court Judge.

 Paula Ribeiro

Paula is a Human Resources executive with Woolworths Ltd and an active member in her local parish. She also volunteers each year in leading English speaking pilgrimages to Lourdes in France.

Philip is currently Religious Education Coordinator at our Lady of the Rosary Primary Waitara and formerly Principal of Prouille Catholic Primary School Wahroonga. He is actively involved in community volunteer initiatives for homeless people and is also a qualified family mediator.

 Daniel Boland

Daniel is a self-employed management consultant, who volunteers regularly with disadvantaged groups. He has a particular interest in youth issues and unemployment. Daniel also has some experience of aboriginal culture and disability issues in employment.

 Peter Moore

Peter is a solicitor with a legal practice in Gosford and experience with family law related matters. He has a strong sense of social justice and has service the community for may years through Rotary, Red Cross and St Vincent de Paul.
