St Martin's OSHC

Welcome to St Martin’s Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC). We have a passionate team of educators who aim to provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment where each child is respected as an individual and allowed to develop their own interests and talents.

We realise that children don’t come in readymade packaging. However they do come with their own little personalities, habits and quirks that make them who they are. We are not here to create structured class lessons with your children because they do enough of that in school.

We are here to help them have fun.

By having fun and enjoying what they are up to, means they will be more confident to try new things. So here at St Martins we boost confidence above all things. We help develop social skills and facilitate the beginning of skills they will need throughout their life, such as cooking and problem solving.

Please feel welcome to visit our service or contact me should you require any further information.

About our service

Our Davidson OSHC is located on the school grounds of St Martin's Catholic Primary School.

We follow the guidelines of the ‘My Time Our Place’ framework and our program is 100% driven by the children’s interests. We have our program on display for parents to view in service.

You can see our five outcomes displayed around the room and we take photos to show children achieving these outcomes. Children are invited to have their say in our “your say” journal. This journal has pictures of what children have been up to and gives them a chance to comment. Parents are more than welcome to have a look also.

Our current program includes activities such as:

  • Zumba
  • Creative arts
  • Cooking
  • Story telling
  • Team work games
  • Obstacle courses
  • Construction
  • Kinetic sand
  • Puzzles and board games

Twice a week we offer help with homework but we cannot force children to complete homework as it is not a core part of our program. If a child wishes to complete homework on any other day they are more than welcome to do so.

Our educators

Our Davidson OSHC is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals and consists of University training early childhood teachers and tafe trained diploma educators.

Our team goal is to provide our children with unique experiences that are fun and nurturing to their development.

  • We will try to be flexible and accommodating where possible.
  • We will always have a program designed with the input of children, based on their interests while also reflecting the ‘My Time Our Place’ framework to ensure children experience a sense of achievement in all that they do.
  • We will always have a menu that is varied, nutritious and designed to keep everyone happy whilst catering to any allergies.
  • We will always try to provide unique experiences that are fun and nurture your child’s development.
  • We will always respect your right to have your voice heard.
  • We will always respect your cultural background and provide inclusive practice.
  • We aim to always be there when you need us.
