St Mary's OSHC

Welcome to St Mary's Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC). The staff and families at Manly OSHC would like to acknowledge the Ku-Ring-Gai people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would like to pay our respect to the Elders both past and present of the Ku-Ring-Gai nation.

Our dedicated team of educators have a commitment to provide a quality inclusive service, which fosters mutual respect and support between staff, children, their families, St Mary’s School staff, St Mary’s Parish and the wider community.

By creating a feeling of acceptance and a sense of belonging we endeavour to provide an environment which enables each child to feel safe, secure and valued. We encourage cultural competence, which is our understanding of our own culture and heritage, as well as being open and respectful to people with different cultures, traditions and abilities.

Please feel welcome to visit our service or contact me should you require any further information.

Our service

Our Manly OSHC is open to all children aged 5-12 years old from the local community. We are located on the school grounds of St Mary's Catholic Primary School and our services include:

We offer a diverse range of activities that include:

  • Craft
  • Sports
  • Table top games
  • Floor games
  • Kitchen corner
  • Dress-up
  • And much more!

We encourage our educators, the children and parents, to give us feedback on the activities we have on offer.

If your child is involved in a local sport, dance or art class after school it might be possible for a member of staff to walk your child to this activity. Please speak with our Co-ordinator to see if this can be arranged.

Our educators

Our Manly OSHC is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals and consists of University training early childhood teachers and tafe trained diploma educators. Our goal is to provide a quality service, where all the children feel safe, valued, happy and secure.

As a team:

  • We acknowledge the individual child and foster their uniqueness by providing them with open play possibilities that will help to challenge and inspire them
  • Where necessary we scaffold the children in play ensuring each child has the chance to build on their curiosity and imagination, enabling them to engage in rich meaningful play experiences, helping them to express themselves through play
  • We endeavour to provide consistency in staffing and routine
  • We value the evolution of our program and support this by encouraging input from the children and their parents and the continual development of our qualified staff.
