'Hey Dad' program

The ‘Hey Dad’ program was first developed in 1995, through a grant from the NSW Child Protection Council. Since that time many hundreds of groups have used this valuable resource that assists men to develop skills and increase knowledge about parenting.

Masterchef Challenge

The NSW Commissioner for Children and Young People, Ms Megan Mitchell, was part of the judging panel for Centacare’s Masterchef Challenge on Monday July 4, 2011. Eight young people, who participate in various programs and services run by Centacare, observed a cooking demonstration on how to make an omelette and, later, spaghetti bolognaise.

Child Centred Practice Seminar

Centacare Broken Bay, in collaboration with UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families hosted a Child Centred Practice Seminar on 31 August 2011. Presenters included Jo Fox, founder of Child Centred Practice, UK, and staff from both Centacare Broken Bay and UnitingCare Burnside.

Child Support News

Paying child support privately

Child support can be transferred between parents if they have a formula assessment, agreement or court order registered with the CSA. This type of payment arrangement is called private collect. The CSA works out how much child support needs to be paid and parents simply transfer payments between themselves.
